About Your Credit
One of the most frustrating things can be determining your credit worthiness. There are plenty of companies offering credit counseling, credit repair, debt negotiation, debt consolidation and other services. The question is who do you trust??
At Creative Freedom Foreclosure Prevention, Inc. we are dedicated to keeping our clients from becoming another statistic through education and guidance. We try to help our clients, not only through foreclosure situations, but during homeownership in general. One of the most common mistakes when it comes to refinancing is not understanding your credit scores and what that can mean in the mortgage world.
First and foremost you should educate yourself on what your credit actually looks like. There are a ton of supposedly free credit reports online. The truth is almost all of them cost something whether it be your information that these companies sell over and over again or whether you are required to sign up for one of their sponsored programs before receiving your credit report.
TransUnion, Equifax and Experian have sponsored a site that is designed to do just that. AnnualCreditReport.com is a site in which you can request a free credit report and access valuable information. This site does not appear to sell your information to third parties nor are you required to sign up for anything prior to getting your report.
Also, another valuable credit education resource is MyFico.com on the "Learn" page to learn more about how credit scoring works.
Equifax also has a very resourceful page for learning more about credit reporting, scoring and general information.
